AM AND PM

I forgot how much I enjoy foreign travel. Traveling keeps us alert about our differences and prevents us from taking the easy close-minded way out. In Europe you get to view history much older than the USA. Kind of makes you feel like a newbie.

This is from a friend who has been traveling the west coast:

I have also done a lot of research here on the coast, and have to report that the ratio of DLSR’s to Camera Phones is about 1 to 20.

Oh my -- no wonder there is congestion and disorder in trying to walk down the sidewalks here in Barcelona. You have a peak level of tourists who are doing one of two things:

  1. Walking with their heads in the crookneck position reading and/or texting so they are not looking where they are going.

  2. Coming to a screeching halt in a congested pack so they can take a picture of something. It is like a 7 car pile-up on the freeway.

On both sides of Las Ramblas there is a consistency and receptiveness of establishments: Hotel/hostel/tapas bar/retail/retail, hotel/hostel/tapas bar/retail/retail and hotel/hostel/tapas bar/retail/retail.

The weather is great – we are now in the high 70’s. There was only about a half day that I couldn't venture out because I don't own an umbrella -- either for travel or at home.

My two favorite times of day – early morning:

And evening or night. This is my street:

Except for some cropping the photos I have been uploading to the blog site are “out of the camera.” I took a few minutes and messed around with a couple of fisheye images that are digitally enhanced.
